hey everyone, my name is a’kaila. i’m 25 years old & grew up in sunny southern california. art has played a huge role in my life for as long as I can remember. I started off training heavily in the dance world; from praise dance to drill team and continuing on to a performing arts high school. I continued that training while majoring in dance at cal state fullerton. throughout this time I nurtured my other artistic gifts as well; from designing dresses and costumes for musicals to making coloring books and greeting cards. this pandemic allowed me to stretch my artistic palette even further when I was introduced to rug-making on tik tok. yes, tik tok. punch-needling came quite easily and tufting followed soon after. there’s no greater gift than marrying your purpose and your passion. for that I am eternally gratefully.
